Reductive phosphonation of <I>gem</I>-dibromocyclopropanes was accomplished by the reaction with trialkyl phosphites, triethylamine, and water affording dialkyl cyclopropylphosphonates. This unique transformation proceeds by the virtue of trialkyl phosphites and dialkyl phosphonates.
