A near-infrared photocurrent has been observed in a sintered ZnO electrode whose surface was covered with Ag atoms. The photocurrent became more evident when silver deposition was carried out with a relatively large charging current. The importance of H<SUP>+</SUP> reduction which competed with silver reduction is pointed out.
