Asymmetric oxidation of prochiral sulfides with optically active hydroperoxides prepared in situ by photo-sensitized oxygenation, gives chiral sulfoxides with moderate optical yields which are enhanced by addition of Ti(OPr<SUP>i</SUP>)<SUB>4</SUB>.
