The crystal structure of (+)589-β2-(3-methyl-2-iminobutanoato)((2<I>S</I>,10<I>S</I>)-4,8-diazaundecane-2,10-diamine)cobalt(III) perchlorate has been determined by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. The complex ion adopts <I>Λ</I>-β2 configuration, and it has the Co–N(imine) bond length of 1.90 Å, which is shorter than the Co–N(amine) bond lengths. The chelate ring of the 2-imino carboxylato is planar.
