Novel 26- and 28-membered macrocyclic tetraimine Schiff bases incorporating four thiophene units as ring constituents were synthesized by a nontemplate method starting from bis(5-formyl-2-thienyl)methane derivatives and aliphatic diamines under high-dilution conditions.
