The dose rate and its pulse-to-pulse reproducibility of very-high-intensity electron pulses have been measured. The effect of the addition of electron scavengers on the neutralization processes in the gas-phase radiolysis of <I>n</I>-butane has been examined by using this very high dose-rate electron pulse.
