• Some nickel(II) complexes with optically active ethylenediamine-<I>N</I>,<I>N</I>′-diacetic acid(edda)-type polyamino carboxylic acids were prepared. Their electronic and infrared spectra and thermogravimetric curves were measured in the solid state. The stretching frequencies of the coordinated carboxylate group and the thermal stability of these complexes in the solid state were quite different from those of bis(amino acidato) complexes.
