The reaction of phenylcarbamoyl cyanide with LiAlH4 or NaBH4 gave glycine anilide, <I>N</I>-phenylethylenediamine, and <I>N</I>-methylaniline. With the latter hydride, 4-amino-1,3-diphenyl-2-imidazolidinone was also formed. The reduction of diphenylcarbamoyl cyanide with LiAlH4 gave <I>N</I>-methyldiphenylamine as the only reduction product.
