Initial hyper glycemia (IHG) produced by the intravenous administration of Insulin is found by many investigators, and greater part of them insist that this phenomenon is caused by glucagon contained in Insulin. We had reported that the IHG was no significant by Iszilin (made in Japan, 1954), and that very definit IHG was observed in some cases of hypothalamic Pituitary disease. The change of blood sugar lebel following intravenous administration of Iszilin made in 1955, is reported in this paper. 1) In the previous report the result as followed: Isziiin made in 1954 was injected in a dose of 0.2u/kg in 51 normal rabbits. Slight IHG was found in 8 of them and the mean of blood sugar of 51 rabbits decreased at 2 minute after injection, and fell at twenty minute to the lowest (57% of previous lebel). 2) In the recent experiments the resault as fallowed. Iszilin made in 1955 was injected in a dose of 0.2u/kg in 10 normal rabbits. Marked IHG was found in all of them and the mean of blood sugar increased to the most higest (110% of previous lebel) at 4 minute after injection, and fell to the lowest (57% of previous lebel) at 30 minute. Iszilin made in 1955 caused more remarkable IHG than Iszilin made in 1954. 3) Chlorpromazin administered in a dose of 25mg/kg might depress the hyperglycemic action of insulin.
