Pulmonary embolism is one of the diseases which have bad prognosis. We experienced one case who was paraplegic with a tumor of thoracic spine and therapeutically forced to be in the prolonged prone position and then sustained pulmonary embolism. Although there are many opinions about theraphy or treatment in choice, none can conclude which theraphy is best. We treated our patient using a combined theraphy of Urokinase and heparin very effectively. We report and discuss this case.
