116 anklgs in 58 patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis were evaluated. Who were treated at the department of Orthopaedic Surgery Medical Collage of Oita during last 5 years were examined. Radiographic changes of the ankle joints were seen in 45% of the ankles. The changes of the talocrural joint apeared within 4 years in patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, and thease were seen 43%. The narrowing changes were seen in the early stage, but the distructive changes were seen latestage.The changes of tibiofibular syndesmosis were seen 25%.
