A case of calcification simulating tumoral calcinosis was reported with the review of literature. A 41-year-old woman had been on maintenance hemodialysis after 1976 and developed a large mass around the knee joint in 1988. Serum calcium level had been controlled within normal range, whereas serum inorganic phosphate had been elevated to more than 11mg/dl after 1988. Parathyroid hormone (C-PTH) was less than 10ng/ml and X-ray findings were not characteristic of secondary hyperparathyroidism.These findings suggested that elevation of serum inorganic phosphate was the most important factor for development of this calcification.
