To this article explains a modified edge crimping method, in which two yarns are crossed and drawn over each other. It also measures, under various conditions, the crimp properties of textured yarns produced by this method.<BR>Yarn produced by the new method closely resemble edge-crimped yarns, but their crimps are slightly weak.<BR>The scraped sode of a nylon filament produced by the new method is only deformed. The scraped side of an edge-crimped filament is cut off.<BR>The molecules near the scraped side of filament produced by the new method tend to reorient more perpendicularly to the filament axis than in filaments produced by the edge crimping method.
