• The relative revolutions of a bobbin and a flyer are an important factor in the winding of roving, but little attention has been paid to them. Much less has there been any method to measure them.<BR>The author has devised the following method : The revolutions of a bobbin and a spindle are picked up from a flyer frame, individually. Then their difference is produced through a differential gear apparatus, and is enlarged and recorded by an electrical method.<BR>The results of measurement by this method show distinctly a stepped variation of the relative revolutions and also incorrect revolutions caused by a swing motion.
