From theoretical and experimental consideration the following results have been obtained :<BR> (1) The most effective tensile strength of twisted continuous-filament yarns is equal to the arithmetic mean of the strength of each component filament. However, the work of rupture is considerably larger than the arithmetic mean.<BR> (2) When viscose rayon is blended with Amilan (the rayon content 10 to 20%), the minimum number of twists with the maximum efficiency is 8-12 in terms of the coefficient of twist.
