A case of congenital dermoid cysts accompanied with thyroglossal duct cyst.

In floor of the mouth appears mucous cyst, ranula, dermoid-epidermoid cyst, thyroglossal duct cyst, branchial cyst. If it occurs in the sublingual region, we would have some difficulties in diagnosis.<BR>This paper reports a case of congenital sublingual and submental type dermoid cysts accompanied by a thyroglossal duct cyst.<BR>The patient, a 2 month old baby, was referred to our hospital with complaints of sublingual mass and submental fistula. The operation was performed when he was 6 months, so he didn't have sucking difficulty.The mouth sublingal mass was extirpated and we found and also extirpates a new mass beneath it. The submental fistula was extirpated from outside the mouth.These 3 masses were independent of each other with no evidence of adhesion together.Histopathologically, the sublingual mass and the submental fistula were dermoid cysts and the mass beneath the sublingual mass was a thyroglossal duct cyst.
