We investigated the relationship between fecal flora and the fecal water contents of 20 samples from 17 patients with various diseases and with abnormal bowel movements. We observed that both the total count of fecal bacteria and the number of main anerobic bacteria decreased and that the number of main aerobic bacteria increased in proportion to the increase of fecal water contents. But, we found that some genera did not match with these results, and that they belong to the antidominant genus groups in healthy states. Of the anerobic bacteria, for example, Veillonella and Clostridium perfringens, were more numerous in the soft feces group than in both normal feces group and mushy or watery feces group. These findings may show one of the important factors for analyzing fecal flora.
