The polarogram of hexaureachromium chloride complex has been studied in various solutions for the purpose of applying the complex on the determination of pyrophosphate. The electrode reaction of the first wave was represented by an equation, such as Cr<SUP>3+</SUP>+e→Cr<SUP>2+</SUP>, and that of the second was Cr<SUP>2+</SUP>+2e→Cr<SUP>0</SUP>.The determination of pyrophosphate having the concentration range of 3070 mg as P<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>7</SUB><SUP>4+</SUP> can be carried out within the error of ± 1 % by applying the voltage of -1.31.5 volts vs S. C. E.
