Since the reaction of aliphatic primary amines with HNO<SUB>2</SUB> is slower than that of aromatic primary amines, the former requires the use of more NaNO<SUB>2</SUB> than the latter for a complete determination. The method of the preceeding report (III) has been applied by the author to samples with abnormal reaction to obtain good results in the determination of aliphatic primary amines with decreased abnormal reaction. Glycine can be estimated with better accuracy than the method using KI, the results of estimation being 99.9100.9 % when the 25 times as much as the theoretical amount of HNO<SUB>2</SUB> was used. Cystine can be determined with results of 99.2103.6 % in a acidic solution stronger than 2 <I>N</I> HCl and by use of 35 times HNO<SUB>2</SUB>. Quantitative determination of guanidino- and sulfamoylgroups can be made by the use of NaNO<SUB>2</SUB>, in excess.
