The optimum pH for succinic dehydrogenase activity of liver and dark muscle of several kinds of fish was found to be 6.7±0.1. Practically no difference in the optimum pH was observed between species of fish or kind of tissue. The change of the activity with pH is shown in Fig. 1. It is clearly seen that the activity changes appreciably with pH in acidic side from the optimum pH while changes gradually in alkaline side.
