The effect of CP, as a preventive measure against relapse, is not yet clear because of the brief period, but it is certain that some effect exists. In the cases, for which the radical operation is impossible, some kinds of effect can be shown clinically and histopathologically, but this effect is not curative.
There are various kinds of side effects, but they are not so serious as to cause much alarm.
However, since it tends to produce leukopenia, leukocyte must be counted every other day during this treatment and when it decreases down to 3, 000 level, the administration should be discontinued.
