An analysis of 3 kinds impact tests by the high speed camera in two dimentional eye model; the impact to the eyeball alone, the impact to the infraorbital margin, and the impact to the eyeball and the infraorbital margin, showed that the primary factor of the orbital floor fracture was the buckling force of the orbital floor, but not the increased hydraulic pressure of the orbital contents. This is a new theory for the mechanism of the orbital blowout fracture and is against the present accepted theory by Smith.
