II. A Follow-up Case of Ulcerative Colitis Showing a Right Sided Colitis in its Process

The ulcerative colitis is characterized in a chronic inflammatory and ulcerative change involving the total layer of the colon and rectum. Its typical type is easily diagnosed by x-ray and endoscopy, but it is still difficult to differentiate its atypical type such as segmental or right sided type from granulomatous colitis or tuberuclosis.<BR>The patient, a 20-year-old female, showed a typical ulcerative colitis with expanded from total colon to terminal ileum. On the follow up observation it showed a right sided type of this disease. From this study, we may say that ulcertive colitis will reveal a right sided feature in its process.<BR>Further, we have already reported that we can easily recognize irregularly shaped minute appearances on the colonic mucosa in the quiescent stage of this disease using dye spraying method. Dye spraying method is also applied in this case, and these minute changes on the colonic mucosa can be easily recognized in the quiescent region.
