The characteristics of pressure drop of air flow through bed were studied in various teas.<BR>The observed pressure drops through bed of tea were expressed by the following equation.<BR>Δp=aG<SUP>1.5</SUP>.L<SUP>0.9</SUP><BR>Δp:pressure drop (mmAq)<BR>G:mass velocity of air (kg/hr.m<SUP>2</SUP>)<BR>L:depth of bed (mm)<BR>a:coefficient (determined by the style of tea)<BR>The value of (a) was shown in Table 3 or the follwing equation.<BR>a=9.5×10<SUP>-10</SUP>×ρ<SUP>4.2</SUP><BR>p:bulk density of tea.
