1) The examination was made by the application of the copper sulfate method.2) The measurement of specific gravity, hematocrit and hemoglobin concentration was made of bloods of 13 sheep in the 1st examination and of 8 sheep in the 2nd examination.3) The measurement of hemoglobin concentration was made by the Van Slyke-Neills oxygen capacity method in the 1st examination, and by Elvchjem-Kennedys photoelectric colorimeter method in the 2nd examination. Hematocrit was measured by wintrobe Tube.4) Results are as follows:a) The hemoglobin concentrations in the 1st exam. relatively well coincide with the predications from Phillips formula. b) But, statistical analysis shows the following figures: sp. g. of whole blood 1.0428±0.0004 sp. g. of blood plasma 1.0229±0.0010 hematocrit 26.8±0.6% oxygen capacity 12.55±0.28vol% mean sp. g. of red corpuscle 1.0972±0.0011 mean corpuscular hemoglobin concontration 34.4±0.0 g/dl Hb(g/dl)=3.44GB÷GP/1.0972÷GP GB: sp. g. of whole blood GP: sp. g. of blood plasma 5) The equation presented in this paper gives more satisfactory predications than the results from Phillips formula in the 1st and 2nd examinations. But statistical analysis are as follows. a) Deviations between hemoglobin concentrations and predications from the equation presented in this paper. in the 1st, mean 0.18g/dl confidence interval 0.18±0.03 in the 2nd, mean 0.35g/dl confidence interval 0.35±0.07 b) Deviations of hemoglobin concentrations from predications from Phillips formula in the 1st, mean 0.18g/dl confidence interval 0.18±0.03 in the 2nd, mean 0.39g/dl confidence interval 0.39±0.07 c) No significant difference between these means was observed either in the 1st examination or in the 2nd examination.
