Combination of the sesame acidic subunit (SesA) and the soybean basic subunit (SoyB) gave a l(AB)-type intermediary subunit bound with disulfide linkages, and also a new 6(AB)-type hybrid protein which had a molecular weight of 265, 000 and a sedimentation constant of 9.6S in 20% glycerol. The combination of soybean acidic subunit (SoyA1 or SoyA2) and sesame basic subunit (SesB) gave only 1(AB)-type intermediary subunits. SoyA1-SoyB formed a 6(AB)-type protein whose molecular weight was estimated to be 310, 000.
