OOTOMO, Haruka[Synopsis] Edible wild plants and mushrooms were investigated on the Nara Campus of Kinki University which is located in the Yata Hills. Thirty three species of plants and 27 species of mushroom were reported with descriptions and color photographs. Most species of edible wild plants were growing at the edge of the forest and in the forest of coppice satoyama and some species were observed waterside such as pond or paddy field. Thus, edible wild plants and mushrooms were growing at various environments of the Campus with coppice. It is essential for sustainable cropping the edible wild plants and mushrooms to conserve the diversity of coppice. The season of cropping of these plants were spring and autumn when activity of humans in the field is high.
