This paper studies the possibility of performance improvement of the Savonius Rotor, which has an excellent low speed characteristics among vertical shaft wind turbine.Flow over the Savonius rotor separates when the rotor backet's incident angle becomes large, influencing on the performance figure. Feasibility study of the delta-vortex generator applied on the Savonius rotor showed promising results in improving power coefficient figure. This paper reports the optimum arrangement of the slit, which is acting as both suction and blowing device, applied on the Savonius rotor through systematically varying installed locations.Based on the experimental studies, the following general conclusions can be made:(1)Boundary layer control using slit is very effective in preventing or delaying separation from the rotor particularly at lower speed range.(2)Optimum angle of the slit location with suction was 40゜from backet edge.
