Multi homed networks are well used to improve fault-tolerance of the information-network systems and perform traffic distribution in the information network. We have designed and implemented a Hierarchical Automatic Number Allocation (HANA) architecture for New Generation Networks. HANA basically allocates Provider Aggregatable (PA) locator space hierarchically and is able to assign multiple locators to one network interface. Accordingly, it is able to construct an end-to-end multi homed network by connecting the local network to multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs) using HANA. Consequently, the multi homed hosts natively have multiple routes for communications when multiple locators are configured. When one of the routes is broken the hosts can switch to the other available route for continuous communications. We introduced a small scale HANA experimental network into access network infrastructure of the JANOG31 and presented simple configuration of HANA and demonstration of route switching in HANA-based multi homed network. We provided network access service by the collaboration of HANA, DHCP and NAT in order to avoid installing HANA client to all client PCs. Through the demonstration we confirmed that the route switching can be finished in about seven seconds when one of the links is down on HANA-based multi homed network.
