In this work, a simple procedure for synthesis of gold nanoparticle-decorated TiO_2(AuNPs-decorates TiO_2) nanocomposites is reported. By using NaBH_4 as a reducing agent, gold ions were reduced onside at the surface of TiO_2 (P25). The mole ratio of Au/TIO_2 was varied in the range of 0.08% to 8%. TEM images indicated that the AuNPs-decorates TiO_2 nanocomposites were obtained by attaching the spherical gold nanoparticles on the surface of TiO_2 particles. The size of the spherical gold nanoparticles was 3-5 nm while the size of TiO_2 particles was 20 nm. The photocurrent properties of AuNPs-decorates TiO_2 nanocomposite films were also investigated. The preliminary results showed that the short-circuit photocurrent of the AuNPs-decorates TiO_2 films at 2% mole of Au/TiO_2 is 1.9 times more than that of the TiO_2 film.
