We have proposed an autonomous primary user (PU) detection scheme exploiting pilot signal and cyclic prefix (CP) in [1], [2]. Although the simulation results show that the detection probability of the PD can be improved while the SU transmits data, the used simulation parameters are not practical for real wireless access environment. Therefore, in this paper, we investigates the performance of our previously proposed scheme in terms of miss detection probability (MDP) and false alarm probability (FAP) by using the simulation parameters based on the WIMAX specification. Simulation results show that the SU can detect the pilot signal of the PU at the low signal-to-interference ratio (SIR).
