With the "third wave" of immigration into the United States, public education has become particularly important to achieve the means of adjusting and uniting the peoples of various social and cultural backgrounds into their adopted "new" society. This article addresses the educational law issues raised by the inflow of undocumented/illegal Mexican children with (their) parent (s) into the United States. The analysis focuses on the 1975 Texas policy of denying undocumented alien children a free public education the subsequent challenges against it, and refrects on the educational status of alien children.
