• What makes students learn more properly? In Hachinohe National College of Technology, elderstudents teach younger ones as their peer-mentors. This program has a now more than 5 years history and hasachieved a modest success. It is still necessary to improve in several ways, including providing more organizedclasses for the mentor candidates. Researches suggest that the mentors regard their teaching experience makesthemselves learn more not only about the subjects they teach, but also about the way to communicate with theyounger, so that to have a sense of responsibility. On the other hand, they seem to require more appreciation.With more confidence, they will make good role models for the students who are now feeling some difficultiesin learning at our college.
