Two broadband planar antennas are developed for array antenna elements and for integration in RF shield package. One is a slot antenna fed from dual-offset strip-lines configured in the double-layer substrate. This is a complete planar substrate antenna. Broadband planar array antennas are expected by parallel feeding of the antenna. The other one is a waveguide aperture antenna fed by the developed broadband microstrip-to-waveguide transition in the microstrip substrate. The metal block is on the top of the antenna for the waveguide aperture. However, most MMIC chips with integrated antennas require a shield case protecting from interferences and noises. The aperture is configured on the shield case of the RF package.
