In these days, it is expected that the estimates of the tracking filter using α-β filters can predict the future position of the aircraft to avoid the collision. However, conventional α-β filters such as an MV (Minimum Variance) filter, a BV (Best Velocity) filter, an RA (Random Acceleration) filter, and an RV (Random Velocity) filter are lacking precision. So, new α-β filters i.e., nspp (n step predicted position) filters have been proposed. In this paper, performances of the nspp filters are compared with conventional α-β filters using a turning target in a three-dimensional space using Monte Carlo simulation under the condition that the velocity filter gain is constant. Additionally, we show that the method described in this paper can improve the n step predicted position performances and we ascertain that nspp filters are useful for a tracking in a three-dimensional space.
