We present new 3-dimensional tracking filters using a constant velocity target model in order to improve the tracking performance of estimated velocity. In our proposed method, we assume that the process noise is the zero vector in order to design a tracking filter easily. We also derive new α-β filters from our proposed method. We illustrate that the estimated velocity performance of our proposed α-β filters is better than that of conventional α-β filters which can be obtained from Kalman filter equations.
