A new flavone-glycoside named garcintin [3-O-(3"-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-α-L rhamnopyranosyl kaempferol] was isolated from a butanol soluble part of a methanolic extract of Lotus garcinii. Six other known constituents: isophytol, hexadecanoic acid, cholesterol, oleanolic acid, betulinic acid and lupeol were isolated for the first time from an ethyl acetate soluble part of the same source. Their structures were elucidated with the aid of NMR spectroscopy.
