We report on intermittent status transition phenomena observed in a globally coupled map system, that emerges not only in the neighborhood of bifurcations but also in an extended parameter region as a generic behavior. We looked into the mechanism and statistical properties of these generally emerging intermittent status transitions. We uncovered that they are induced by the coexistence of many "quasi-stable" ruins of attractors that occur in the extended parameter region, and identified several subtypes the specific features of which become clearer in systems with a larger number of elements. In one of these subtypes, a distinctive power law with exponent -1 appears in the transition interval distribution. The uncovered mechanism does not depend on the details of the system, and this type of phenomenon is expected to occur in coupled chaotic systems rather commonly.
