Study on Zero-Flux Application for Restraining the Remanence of High-DC-power Electromagnet

This paper proposes a new method to restrain the remanence. The method is based on feedback control. A feedback controller is embedded in magnetic circuit of electromagnet. If there is much remanence left when the power of electromagnet shut off, the controller will generate the excitation current which is against the direction of remanence current. The Zero-Flux can be reached based on this method and the armature will be released as requirement. Detail analysis is given in this paper. Necessary simulation and theoretical analysis is done. Then the experimental circuit is designed and some experiment is done to test and verify this method. At last, the method is used in application. The application result indicates that the method restrains the remanence of High-DC-power electromagnet and the armature is released immediately.
