Calcium silicate (CaSiO_3) called wollastonite with the molar ratio of CaO:SiO_2 is 1:1 synthesized by sol-gel process and sintered at 1100℃ for 1 h. The present study showed that the synthesis of calcium silicate made from chicken eggshells as a starting material via pyrolysis. The CaSiO_3 samples have the triclinic or anorthic phase formation and good electrical properties. The dielectric constant and electrical conductivity are 62.59±0.44 and 8.0052 x 10^<-4> (Ω.m)^<-1>, respectively, measured at 25℃ and 1 MHz. The obtained CaSiO_3 materials can be used as a dielectric material to apply for biomedical engineering parts i.e. bioactive artificial bone and dental root, scaffolds and engineering devices i.e. lasers, sensors, solar cell, and special radio.
