The Kishu Han had been putting emphasis on the improvement of agricultural production since the latter half of 17th century. The progress of agricultural techniques and civil engineering besides the enhancement of farmers consciousness to the development of their districts allowed construction of irrigation ponds and a great scale of sluices. Moreover the Kishu Han edited research papers on actual conditions of its domain. It consists of territories with 550,000 Goku stretching over two domains;both Kii and Ise. Its research papers are highly valued as precise, written out by employing its organizations. Based on these data I want to make out the actual state of the Kishu Han in the latter half of the Genroku period.
