This study was made on the Handicaps of the Little People (dwarfs and midgets). Their handicaps range widely from a physical functional level to appearances. After the statistical survey on the influences of social adaptation of appearance, we found two psychological factors behind them. 1) Negative body-consciousness: Short-stature doesn't directly cause social maladjustment by itself. Negative body-consciousness about one's appearance makes him/her feel difficulty in adapting to his/her environment. 2) Relative deprivation: To experience the difficulty of human relations is not related to the degree of physical difficulty. On the contrary, the cases of less physical difficulty have relatively more troubles in their human relations. Conclusions of the further case studies were: The style of the personal interaction plays a very important role in the social adaptation and result from two different appearances of little people. Little people who are looking like younger than their real age have a feeling of adapting more poorly than little people who are recognized as the disabled.
