Piezoelectric materials and surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices are used for various applications. These applications include filters, resonators, sensors, and IDs. SAW can be used as a passive RFID transmitting short pulse patterns and receiving the corresponding reflected signals. The progresses of SAW RFID tags are presented in this paper.
