In this paper, the method that calculate the vibration of local ship structure as three dimensional frame work construction is proposed. In order to examine the propriety of the method the model experiments are carried out. The calculated natural frequencies and vibratory modes fairly good agree with the measured them. Judging from the calculated results of simplified frame work constructed series models, when the local ship structure is approximated to the frame work construction, the mass and moment of inertia must be concentrated at the locations where the rigidity of frames are large, and the longitudinal and transverse frames must be arranged at regular intervals. The lower mode vibrations can be calculated accurately used fairly simplified frame work construction. The effect of the bracket attached at the end of beam is also considered in this paper. The span point in statical strength can be used in vibratory problems, but for the higher mode vibrations of the beam of which the length is short the span point in statical strength must be corrected.
