A walking assistance apparatus unfixed on legs have been developed. The purpose of this study is stabilization of horizontal direction posture of equipped person while walking and increase assistance power of the apparatus. To stabilize horizontal direction posture while walking of equipped person, leaf springs are assembled in the apparatus's abduction/adduction of hip joint. By experiments, we confirmed that when the leaf springs are assembled, gluteus medius muscle activity is lower than when the leaf springs are not assembled. Furthermore, more powerful actuators are selected and attached intend to increase assistance power. Reduction ratio was decided by using kinematic analysis results. Step's height and speed in swing phase increase are confirmed by experiments.
