In this paper we present a hub network design for marine transportation. Given an interconnected network, we would like to minimize total transportation cost by configuring the network into hub and spoke structure. In the proposed model, direct flow is allowed only between ports grouped in a cluster. To achieve the objective, we defined location of hub and allocation of non-hub port to selected hub as decision variables. Ship size to serve each link is also optimized. The results show that proposed model was superior to those found in the previous study in terms of total cost. Regarding hubs selection, some hub ports selected by proposed model have small quantity in volume of container. Such kind of result mainly resulted from behavior of handling cost. Interhub discount factor that introduced to get economies of scale in ports results in insignificant impact to select location of hub.
