For the calculation of stresses of detailed Mega-Float structures in irregular waves, this paper presents the following three ways of stochastic procedures continued after the first step hydroelastic analysis: [Procedure-1]: Stress analyses for the combinations of wave periods and directions are made to obtain instantaneous sets of real and imaginary stresses using an entire structural model subjected by hydrodynamic pressures and inertia forces of the first step result. Finally, calculations of general short-term prediction are made to obtain stresses in irregular waves. This is the strictest among the three procedures although it takes enormous computing time. [Procedure-2]: Short-term prediction of an internal load item such as shear force and bending moment is performed using the first step result. Finally, a product of the short-term predicted internal load and a stress factor becomes a stress in irregular waves. The stress factor is defined as a stress of a local structural model subjected by a unit load. This procedure is applicable when a single load item determines stresses. [Procedure-3]: The load of each load item derived from the first step result is multiplied by the stress factor of the corresponding load item, and each of the products is added together to obtain a set of stress RAO. Here, the load items include hydrodynamic pressure, inertia force, shear force and bending moment obtained by the hydroelastic analysis. Finally, short-term prediction is made to obtain combined stresses in irregular waves. This procedure is applicable when stresses consist of those due to multiple load items.
