The present study reports three waves quasi panel study conducted in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The administered questionnaire refers to behavioral and attitudinal change in the people suffered from the Chuetsu Earthquake of October 2004. The respondents of the first wave survey were living in the temporary housing in the devastated areas in August 2005. We collected 458 responses in the first wave survey (collection rate was 50.9%). We then carried out the second wave survey of the people who had returned questionnaires in the first survey and agreed to cooperate in the second survey. A total of 152 responses were collected (collection rate was 76.0%). The third wave survey was carried out in March 2007 with participants who responded in the second wave survey (collection rate was 84.2%). We found that 60.7% had started to rebuild their damaged/destroyed houses in the devastated areas, and 14.3% in other areas. These proportions increased by 16.9% and 9.8% respectively from the first wave survey. The perception of socio-economic life, mental health status, satisfaction with the temporary housing conditions and satisfaction with the government response to the sufferers improved between the first and third waves. A two-way repeated measures ANOVA indicated a significant main effect for time, but no significant interaction effect between respondent's age and time.
