In diagnosis and treatment of knee joint diseases, it is very effective to acquire the three-dimensional motion of patient's knee joint. We have been studying a 2D/3D registration method for acquiring motion of femur and tibia using bi-plane fluoroscopy and CT images. This time, a patella was included in motion acquisition which is also an important part in knee joint. We performed an image acquisition experiment and confirmed that motion of femur, tibia and patella were successfully obtained.
