This paper proposes a method for a 3D registration between two CT images in surgery navigation system of total knee arthroplasty, one is a preoperative CT image with scanned MDCT, and the other is an intraoperative CT image scanned with a mobile CT. Goal accuracy of registration is within 1mm. To achieve a stable and accurate iterative registration, we propose to use a set of initial parameters with fiducial markers. Its accuracy was estimated through a computer simulation.
